There are many interesting approaches in teaching foreign languages in teacher’s practice. I try to list them: ....
All of these approaches have many advantages, but they also have disadvantages. For example, if one of them is useful to one person, it doesn’t mean that it would be good to another one. So these methods are used only in individual teaching.
But new approaches include only advantages of these methods. Modern ways of teaching become almost perfect. But you can ask: “Why these approaches become so perfect only at our time?” The answer is IT. Internet, software, electronic and audio-books are reasons of this great achievement. It used to be unreal to capture all features of teaching foreign. But fortunately our society is improving. Almost all the young use the internet. They can chat, study or even amuse themselves with improving their foreign knowledge. So Internet becomes good teacher at our time. Read more

“So these methods are used only in individual teaching” - quotation.
Actually they are used not only in individual teaching. Remember the way you were taught English pronunciation (demonstration, imitation, contrast, practice), it was audiolingual teaching as this aspect of language lends itself best to this style of teaching. Many teachers fall back from time to time on the audiolingual style as it provides a clear framework for teachers to work within. In fact many of its features are common in the classroom – the use of short dialogues, the emphasis on spoken language and on the student speaking, the importance of vocabulary control.
It is rare to encounter a classroom that is a pure version of one definite teaching style as none of them fully satisfies all the needs of any real class of students.
“Virtual online schools ….. But your teachers can become the greatest educational specialists” - quotation.
After all teachers are human beings. :) I mean every teacher has their own preferences in the way of teaching which take roots from some personal traits of character (introvert/ extrovert …), beliefs (only academic style is appropriate for higher educational establishments/ if mistakes do not hinder communication they need not be corrected/grammar is of the utmost importance) and even the way the teacher was taught while being a student. I believe there cannot be such thing as the best teacher for everybody but there can be a teacher who is the best for a definite student. Actually the problem remains – to choose among the greatest educational specialists the one who is the best for you.
But if we skip a discussion on teaching styles and get down to the main idea raised in the article (a new role of a teacher - more facilitator than controller) and a new type of learning where responsibility rests with the learner, self-learning we can say that the authors grasped the recent trends in education, the problems of great topicality.
As far as I am concerned it is rather difficult for me to adjust to the change, I noticed I “need my students to need me”, a kind of a “parent-type role” I am used to.
Dear Victor and Natalia,
I am wondering how often you use IT in your studying. Does it help you to gain more knowledge and improve your skills? Does our Moodle help you in your autonomous learning?
Your participation in online conference is a nice evidence of using modern approaches in learning and teaching English at out University!
Very interesting information. It's true that there are many ways to study languages. But I think studying languages by websites or online not comfortable and difficult without speaking in life.
Hi Roma and all,
In my mind, the Internet is very helpful and useful for studying languages. Take a look at the website - e-community created by the NS, professor from United Kingdom. The website is absolutely free, and it is very good for everyone to learn and improve their languages with fun.

Hi Victor and Natalia,
Without online learning and using the Internet, I would have never imagined my self, in Khartoum, reading great article by Ukrainian students.I think that is fascinating, isn't it?
Good luck and keep it up!

Hi Victor and Natalia, I liked your observations! I do believe in what you say about the use of internet; the quantity and quality of free resources online can really be adapted to the different learning styles of students and this can give a great help in language learning.
What do you want to say with "So Internet becomes good teacher at our time"? I think Internet is useful, helpful and easy to use but I don't think it can be a substitute of teachers, perhaps it's the concept of the lesson that is undergoing a transformation and you clearly state this writing "Today any pedagogue can teach the students all over the world, just sitting near fireplace with his lap-top".
Best wishes for your future!

Hi, Natalia and Victor!
Here's an example of "blended learning" (a mix of f2f and online) that I started experimenting with back in 2003 and ended up getting an international prize for it in Dec 2007.

This was for beginners of English, young learners. I used different tools and catered to different learning styles and intelligences, and it was a success with my students. Hope you like it!
Keep up the great work!

Olena, thank you! I hope that my topic will help you to learn foreign languages.
I think that today this topic is very actual. And every person can chose how to learn the foreign language.
Katia, thank you for your comment! I tried to list the most popular ways of teaching foreign language.
Roma, I completely agree with you. Oral practice is very necessary for students. But IT help us to improve our knowledge without investment of much time.
Thank you for your comment!
Ester, thank you for your comment!I think that students can use only the Internet and good oral practice to learn the foreign language well. This approach save much time, but students must have real desire and great stimulus to learn it by this way.
Hi, Teresa! I like your approach in teaching English. It is very useful and creative. I wish you more saccessful projects!
Roma, I agree with you too. But everybody choses approach, that match to him. So every way can be convinience for someone even without great oral practice.
